ABOUT ME My affinity with motion pictures began with an interesting class given by my primary school art teacher. We were studying traditional Chinese ink painting, and at the time, Chinese TV stations were very popular with Chinese ink animation. So I asked my teacher how could my painting move like it does on TV? I think it was about two weeks later that my teacher brought us a picture book. I found that there was only one fish in the book and the shape of the fish on each page was very similar. But then, as the teacher began to turn the pages quickly, I noticed that the fish in the book came alive, just as I had seen it on TV. After that, I became very interested in it and began to try to draw such small animations by myself.
As a teenager, I was a fan of TV and movies, but I didn’t get the idea of becoming a film producer until after I had already gotten a degree in production engineering. When one of my favorite novels, Nirvana in Fire, achieved great success after being made into a television show, I developed a strong interest in the power of film and television.
Fortunately, being in radio and television engineering, I was able to land my first job as a member of the production team for a series in China and became a documentary producer. I eventually decided to pursue my dream of becoming an independent film producer. I ended up as a Bay Area-based film producer with a great passion for reading all kinds of scripts, especially in crime and some high-concept stories. I am enjoying collaborating with artists from all over the world.
